Nocturnal Giraffe Theatre was founded in the winter of 2022 with the unceremonious click of a “submit” button for the online applicaton to the Minnesota Fringe Festival. We are buoyed by the belief that the winters here are cold, but our hearts don’t have to be. So, come laugh with us!

After watching theatre after theatre close their doors, we wanted to watch a door open. In 2022, we didn’t have a plan, and we didn’t have a name… but we had a lot of coffee, a lot of energy, and a long session of word association. How did we arrive at Nocturnal Giraffe? Maybe it was inspired by a painting on our wall. Maybe it arrived to us from the Cosmos. Or maybe, just maybe, it seemed like a better name than Ceiling Fan Theatre or Table Lamp Theatre. Or maybe those names were already taken.

Nocturnal Giraffe strives to bring artists and audiences together with the shared experiences of laughter and delight. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we seriously hope you come play.
